HYMNS.

HYMNS.

I was use to the Christian rock concerts I had been attending. None of this extremely meaningful gospel related music. The first time I went to church I thought it was weird. So many songs! Opening hymn, sacrament hymn, intermediate hymn, closing hymn. What the heck was going?

BUT I LOVE THE HYMNS NOW.

I love the feeling that you get when the entire ward is singing them together. I feel the spirit, I feel happy. I love that my roommates Desi and Becky play them when we are getting ready for church, or any other day for that matter. It just sets the best mood and a great start to the day.

Don’t get me started on ward prayer. Okay, lets get started on ward prayer. At least in sacrament meeting I have the hymn book to follow along with haha. Ward prayer I have nothing! The first couple of Sunday nights I felt embarrassed even though I knew, nobody was watching me. If they were, I was totally humming. In fact, I still hum. Lucky for me though, we have sang, “I am a Child of God” countless times, so I think I have that one down :)

Something that I have found to help me learn them better? Going to sing to the elderly at Jamestown with my roommates. Service. I got extremely lucky with the people Heavenly Father has placed in my life! I couldn't have asked for better examples to live with.
